9,998 bidders for Malaysia WWW 1 license plate and the winner was Ibrahim Ismail of Johor with $165,068 (520,000 Malaysian ringgits) winning bid.
Why this crazy auction? Because in Malaysia you cannot buy personalized plate for your car, you must wait until the number of cars registered reached that sequence and this can take months or even years.
The bidding for the WWW 1 plate and other car plates with the prefix WWW, which stands for World Wide Web, started in April 30 and ended on May 14.
