Location: The Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge is excellent located near Chain Bridge. It is close to most Budapest’s attractions (like River Danube, Vaci Street or Hungarian Parliament). Many of hotel’s rooms have Danube views and the view is breathtaking. Others room offer boring street view so ask for a room with river view even it cost more. There are lots of bars and fine restaurants nearby.

Service: Sofitel Budapest Chain Bridge is more business-oriented so the staff is formal, maybe a bit too formal. At front desk they look unfriendly, also at the restaurant the smiles was unnatural. The staff looks too stressed and try to be polite but fail.

Rooms: There are 357 rooms and suites some of them with superb views. We got a Luxury Room and at check in we receive a free upgrade to a nice Junior Suite. The suite was large (46sqm/490sqf) with sitting area, Flat screen, TV, Nespresso (Tea/Coffee Maker) and BOSE Audio System. Only drawback was the lack of river view. Even so, the room and bathroom design is outstanding. Bathroom features a bathtub, hair dryer, make-up/magnifying mirror, radio, shower and telephone. The bed was big, extremely comfortable and I slept well.

Food and drink: Excellent choice of breakfast and there was a large selection of items. Good selection for vegetarians. The coffee was good and sweets were delicious. Atmosphere too formal.

Hotel Design: Exterior design is not great at all. I can say ugly. When you step in you will have a surprise: interior design is amazing, total opposite with exterior. I like old plane hanging from the ceiling and elevator design. Unfortunately the elevator are beautiful but always busy, slow and sometimes so unpredictable…

Hotel Business Facilities: There are 17 flexibly separable venues and ballroom for meetings, conferences and exhibition from Board Room setup of 6 people to Theater setup for 340 people. It is available a Business Center inside of the hotel and WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge. If you need broadband wired internet is available in the hotel rooms and costs EUR 9 per hour.
I like the gorgeous views of the Danube River, wood paneling chandeliers and red leather chairs.
I don’t like how Internet wireless is managed: you must ask for password at reception but nobody told you this at check in. So we realized this when we got in the room …
